Kim Moser (OEI employee) commented

"Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the AmeriCorps project this time! Going out early on a cold Saturday morning turned in to a great Blessing….arriving at Virginia Tech at 10 am with the temp around 30 degrees was COLD but to see all of the college students ready and eager to load all of the AmeriCorps potatoes on our 2 trucks was awesome to watch – we got our entire allotment of 5250 pounds and another locations 150 lbs brought back to Southwest Virginia successfully…

Coming back to Smyth County and unloading the potatoes in our barn and covering them to ensure they would not freeze, then Chrissy began loading back first thing this morning and donating them around Smyth County. Donations were dropped off at Mountain Cap Food Pantry, First United Methodist Church, and Smyth County Department of Social Services Adult Protective Unit. Many Smyth County people will enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Attached are pics from VT more coming from the Marion Food Pantries"
